BIO
Through sailing for almost 30 years Nicholas has developed himself into a successful all round sailor. He used to be active in the Olympic Laser class. Sailing the Laser he became World Champion in 2014. In 2017 he switched to the Olympic Finn class to set out for a new challenge. During 2017, he trained to an extra of 15 kilos of muscles to perform optimally in the Finn. Later in 2017, Nicholas won the bronze medal at the World Championship in the Finn class at Lake Balaton. 2018 and 2019 were really consistent years with hardly being outside the top three and winning multiple events, claiming the nr 1 on the world ranking. After a 4th position in the Olympics in Tokyo, Nicholas shifts his focus to the next ambition: the Ocean Race or the SailGP.
